Sustainability

Powered by possibility.

Solar energy, thoughtful resource use and a long-term view of farming.

Our energy approach

Making the most
of Ghana’s sunshine.

Solar power supports our off-grid operations and our commitment to a more resilient farm.

Using renewable energy helps reduce reliance on fossil fuels and directs resources towards animal care and responsible growth.

Our roadmap is to expand the role of solar power across everyday farm activities.

Our solar roadmap

Practical energy. Everyday impact.

01 · PLANNED APPLICATION

Water pumping

Renewable power for drawing water and supplying livestock.

02 · PLANNED APPLICATION

Farm lighting

Indoor and outdoor lighting for a safer working environment.

03 · PLANNED APPLICATION

Ventilation & cooling

Energy to support airflow and manage heat in animal housing.

04 · PLANNED APPLICATION

Farm equipment

Power for equipment such as feed mixers and grinders.

A more circular farm

Waste can be
a resource, too.

Our organic fertiliser gives livestock byproducts a useful next life. Biogas remains under development, as we continue to explore better ways to manage farm resources.

Managing the whole system

Sustainability is also an operating discipline.

Energy and water belong together

Our solar approach forms part of a wider effort to build a resilient commercial farm. Power is useful when it reliably supports the work that needs to happen: water supply, animal care and essential site activities. The roadmap above identifies areas for continued development rather than implying that every planned application is already installed.

Make resource decisions practical

A larger operation needs clear responsibility for daily checks, maintenance and the response when equipment fails. The same discipline applies to water use and materials handling. A sustainable improvement should make sense within the working farm, including the people, servicing and records needed to keep it useful over time.

Read the planning guides

Our Resources section starts with modern, sustainable pig farming in Ghana and connects it to water, energy, local feed and nutrient management. Each guide explains the relevant Ghanaian context and identifies how wider West African or international evidence should be adapted.
