Tell us the purpose of the purchase, how many piglets you are considering and your preferred timeframe. Ask about the breeds and stock currently available rather than assuming that every option is offered throughout the year. If you have a specific breeding objective, describe it so that the conversation can focus on relevant information.
Prepare the next stage
The conditions at the receiving farm matter alongside the animals themselves. Plan suitable housing, a dependable drinking-water supply and a feeding programme appropriate to their stage. Arrange technical advice before arrival if you are establishing a new operation. A clear preparation plan helps prevent last-minute changes to transport or accommodation.
Keep records from the beginning
Confirm the information available with the animals and retain purchase and movement records.
